United Nations Organization

It is an international organization established after the Second World War An international organization of sovereign states. On October 24, 1945, the Charter of the United Nations was signed in San Francisco, marking the official establishment of the United Nations. The United Nations is committed to promoting cooperation among states in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights and the realization of world peace.


The headquarters is set up in the United Nations headquarters in New York. At present, there are 193 member states [1], including 39 in Asia, 54 in Africa, 28 in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, 23 in Western Europe, 33 in Latin America, 16 in North America and Oceania, including all internationally recognized sovereign states, as well as two observer states (Vatican and Palestine).


The five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council: the United States of America, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the French Republic and the people's Republic of China.


The executive head of the United Nations is the Secretary General of the United Nations.


The United Nations has six working languages, English, French, Russian, Chinese, Arabic and Spanish.


The United Nations plays a very active role in maintaining world peace, easing international tensions, resolving regional conflicts, coordinating international economic relations, and promoting economic, scientific and cultural cooperation and exchanges among countries around the world.
